Between illumination and religious painting, how to represent the unrepresentable? Love? Human relations ? Many texts tend to erase the relationship between Mary and Jesus, others suggest that the three Mary Magdalenes were one. The presence of women is disturbing in the interpretations of monotheistic religions, even in our secular societies, minimizing the impact of a Judeo-Christian culture as a philosophical paradigm.
This interchangeable couple (Is MM feminine or masculine? Is JC feminine or masculine?) is reduced to initials, sorts of Alpha and Omega of identity. In these allegorical caves, are we still dependent on injunctions to femininity and virility?
